It is intimated that the Belgian-German and GermanDutch frontiers are again being closed, possibly tomorrow. The German police are already refusing to grant special permits to Belgian workers employed in Germany. TROOP ACTIVITY OBSERVED BY NEUTRALS. WORK ON THE SIEGFRIED LINE. (Received This Day. 11.0 a.m.) AMSTERDAM, February 29. Increased German troop activity is reported on all the Reich's western frontiers, indicating that the Germans are taking advantage of the break in cold weather to strengthen the Siegfried fortifications. High German officers are reported to have visited positions opposite Eupen. TIGHTER CONTROL DUTCH TEMPORARY RESIDENTS WARNED. (Received This Day, 1.15 p.m.) LONDON. February 29. The British United Press correspondent at Eupen says that, beginning on March 15. the German authorities at Aachen are restricting the movements of frontier traffic. Dutch residents in Germany who are temporarily sojourning in Holland are reported to have been instructed to return, to Germany not later than March 15 or their passes will be cancelled. Travellers from the Reich revealed that the German frontier positions have been strengthend. It is believed that lhe extension of the Siegfried Line is one reason for the increased control of frontier traffic.
