QUEEN LINGERS
IN A.R.P. CANTEENS IN GLASGOW. GREAT WELCOME GIVEN BY CLYDESIDERS. By Telegraph—Press Association—Copyright. LONDON. February 29. The Queen was inclined to linger at the mobile canteens which their Majesties inspected during their visit to the Glasgow A.R.P. organisation. Finally when the schedule was threatened with a serious upset the King whispered to the Queen: “Don’t you think we have cofTee-housed long enough!’’ At another canteen the Queen accepted a gift of three twopenny packets of chocolate, and the King laughingly commented: “We seem to be pinching all the stuff here.” However. Hie King left the richer by a packet of 20 cigarettes. The Clydeside workers tumultuously welcomed their Majesties.
