PLUNKET SOCIETY
THE HOUSE TO HOUSE APPEAL FOR FUNDS. Nothing has more impressed those engaged in the house to house collection which is being made this week on behalf of the Masterton branch of the Plunket Society than the hearty good will with which donations are given by people who are far from being wealthy. A round of visits like that now being made demonstrates very clearly that the Plunket Society has a host of appreciative and understanding friends and supporters, not least amongst the mothers, and the grandmothers of the community. In addition to gathering in donations, the collectors have enrolled some new members, and it is hoped that the membership lists will be further extended by the time all returns are in. Apart from money collected, a number of people have promised to deliver or send donations to the Plunket Rooms in the Central Arcade and an appreciable addition should thus be made to the sums meantime in hand.
