Messrs A. Neyland, F. Caldwell (Palmerston North) and R. J. Mason (Eketahuna) were guests yesterday, at the Prince of Wales Hotel, Masterton. Major C. W. Salmon. Temporary Staff, has been appointed a member of the Canteen Board, in place of Lieu-tenant-Colonel S. H. Crump, 0.8. E., New Zealand Staff Corps. Mr John Wood, C.M.G., Engineer-in - Chief of the Public Works Department, has been appointed Director-General of Works and Buildings of the Royal New Zealand Air Force and granted the honorary rank of group captain.
