WAR ON NEUTRALS

FRANK STATEMENT OF NAZI POLICY. DEMAND FOR POLITICAL SUPPORT. The German war aims against neutrals were frankly explained in a broadcast from Germany on Wednesday. Daventry reports. The announcer complained that the British figures for sea losses failed to include neutral losses. The aim of German naval warfare, he said, was to put out of action all merchant ships conveying goods to the enemy' and cut off shipping communications from England. This had been done and was being done regardless of nationality. Dr Goebbels, in a speech, made it clear that Germany does not intend to allow neutrals to express views with which Germany is not in agreement. Germany could not put up with neutrality which respected only military and not political neutrality, he said. It was not sufficient that a Government should declare its neutrality and allow public opinion in the same State to be free to abuse as much as it wished.
