AUSTRALIAN WAR LOAN
LONG AND SHORT TERM RATES. TREASURER’S ANNOUNCEMENT. By Telegraph—Press Association—Copyright. (Received This Day, 9.10 a.m.) SYDNEY. February 27. The Acting-Federal Treasurer, Mr P. Spender, has officially announced the terms of the first war loan of £ 18,006,000. It is to be issued at par, with two options. These are a long term, of from 10 to 16 years, at the rate of £3 12s 6d and a short term of five years at £3 7s 6d. The loan opens for subscription on Friday. The sum of £8,000,000 will be applied to war finance, and the remainder to State and Commonwealth public works.
