INDOOR PICNIC
METHODIST SUNDAY SCHOOL AN ENJOYABLE GATHERING. LIST OF PRIZE WINNERS. Despite the bad weather, the Masterton Methodist Sunday School children thoroughly enjoyed their “picnic” held indoors on Saturday. After lunch games were played by the scholars grouped in their departments until 3 p.m. when all except the tiny tots assembled for the races which again were of a novel nature. Tea was followed by the presentation of prizes by Mr L. T. Daniell on whose property the picnic was to have been held, and who made himself popular with the children by his teaching of a haka. An apology for absence was received from the Rev F. J. Parker who is attending the Methodist Conference in Dunedin.
Excellent work was done by the catering Committee (Mrs C. D. Shoosmith, Miss Bennington, Miss E. Beale and Mrs E. Cody), and by the games committee (Mr C. D. Shoosmith, Miss D. O’Donnell and Mr A. Griggs). Thanks were expressed to Messrs L. T. Daniell, S. Ralph, E. Martin,' D. M. Graham and F. C. Rutter for help, and to Messrs C. E. Daniell, Ltd., the W.F.C.A. and the Y.M.C.A. for the loan of gear.
