FORESTERS’ PICNIC

GATHERING AT AKURA. . There was a fair attendance at the Masterton Foresters' Lodge annual picnic held at Mr J. H. Payton’s Bush at Akura yesterday. The weather was perfect, and although there was a strong wind blowing, there was plenty of shelter. Those present spent a happy and pleasant time. Games and races provided fun for the children and entertainment for the adults. A tug-o-war contest between a men and a ladies, team resulted in tne defeat of the men. r Swimming in the river nearby proved popular. The suctess of the gathering was due in no small measure to the work of the organiser, Mr C. Leigh.
