CARTERTON SALE
LATE RATES MAINTAINED. Messrs Wright Stephenson and Co., Ltd., report as follows concerning their Carterton sale yesterday:— A large yarding of sheep, cattle and pigs came forward and was offered to a large attendance. The prices were on a par with late rates. The following are some of the realisations: — Sheep: Fat wethers, 21s to 22s fid; fat S.D. ewes, 20s to 23s 3d; fat lambs, 16s 7d, 21s 6d to 22s 3d; fat ewes, 13s to 18s 66d; b.f. lambs, 13s 2d, 13s 7d, 14s 6d, 15s 4d to 16s 7d; wether lambs, Us 6d to 12s Id; 4-th. wethers, 17s to 18s sd; med. b.f. lambs, to Us; 2-th. wethers, 14s to 16s; 2-th. ewes, 17s 6d. 20s. 21s to 255; m.a. ewes, 14s, 14s 2d to 17s 4d; 6-yr. ewes, 11s to 14s 8d; 2 and 4-th. ewes, to 20s Id; f.m. ewes, 6s Id, 6s 9d to 7s; small b.f. lambs, 5s 6d to’ 6s 7d; small wether lambs, 7s 8d to 9s lOd; ewe lambs, 10s lOd to 13s Id; 1-sh. S.D. rams, to £3 3s; m.a. S.D. rams, 6s, 15s 6d to 18s 6d.
Cattle: Cows just calved, £10: springing heifers, £8; fat cows, £5 to £7 10s; fat heifers, to £5 17s; forward cows, £3 2s 6d to £4 16s; store cows, 36s to £2 15s; cull cows, 15s to 30s; weaner jersey heifers, £2 to £2 ss; cows and calves, £4 17s 6d to £5 9s; bulls, £2, £3 10s. £4 16s, £5 10s to £7 15s.
Pigs: Weaners (good), 10s to 12s; weaners (medium), 7s to 9s 6d; weaners (small), 5s to 6s; slips, 14s to 18s 6d; store pigs, 19s to 245; light porkers. 28s to 325; porkers, 35s to £2 8s; baconers. £2 15s to £3 ss.
