ALTMARCK AFFAIR

COURT OF INQUIRY OPENED IN OSLO STUDY OF ACCUSATIONS. EVIDENCE OF NORWEGIAN WITNESSES. (Received This Day, 11.0 a.m.) , OSLO, February 23. A Court of Inquiry on the Altmarck affair has opened. The British and German Consuls are present. The main witnesses are Norwegian naval, officers and fishermen. The Court is studying the British accusation that the crew of the Altmarck opened fire on the boarding party and also fired from the shore, and the Gorman accusation that Norwegian warships refused to help a German sailor who fell overboard.
