CRICKET
"OLD TIMERS" MATCH. There were a number of "Old Timesr" at practice at the Red Star Club'.'-.' nets yesterday afternoon, and all who care to are invited by the club to use the nets again on Thursday afternoon. Keen interest is being shown in the match and the North Wairarapa selector requests players to obtain as much practice as possible as South Wairarapa will field two strong teams. Mr •J. A. Betts has offered to be one of the umpires, and one of the teams will be captained by the Mayor of Masterton 'Mr T. Jordan). The teams will be announced by the selector in a few days. Several players have suggested that the match commence at 2.30 p.m. and continue till 6.30 p.m. If the match were started earlier some of the players may not be able to get. away from business. Other clubs in Masterton have placed their nets at the disposal of the "Old
'Timers" on practice days. Players are requested to wear proper cricket shoes at the nets. Dr Bcrney, A. Styles and E. SortainSmith showed good form at the nets last night.
