CENTRAL SCHOOL

■» PARENTS’ ASSOCIATION. DANCE SEASON TO OPEN IN APRIL A meeting of the Central School Parents’ Association was held in the Central School last evening. Owing to the unavoidable absence of Mr G. Beecroft, Mr E. C. Coddington occupied the chair. The treasurer reported that the funds of the committee now stood at £122 10s 6d. The Headmaster reported on the inquiries made in regard to 1 the supply and price of visual talking machines, the cost of film hire, etc. Owing to the possible difficulty of complete servicing, etc, during the war period, and possible improvements, he recommended that no action be taken in the meantime in connection with the purchase of a machine. The recommendation was adopted. It was decided to commence the season’s dances on Saturday, April 6, and arrangements concerning the same were drafted. The committee decided that the dance floor be treated with a sandpaper machine and a great improvement is expected as the result. Sub-committees for the season’s activities were formed, and it is expected that the year’s operations will prove to be even more successful than those of last year.

The next meeting of the committee will be held on Thursday, March 28, when final arrangements will be made concerning the season’s dances.
