WAR ON U-BOATS

ANOTHER BOMBED IN NORTH SEA SIXTH SUNK SINCE FEBRUARY 9. MORE PRISONERS IN BRITAIN. By Telegraph—Press Association—Copyright. LONDON. February 18. A plane of the R.A.F. coastal command which was patrolling the North Sea is believed to have been responsible for the sinking of the sixth Üboat since February 3. The plane dropped bombs ahead as the periscope of a U-boat disappeared, and later large patches of oil and bubbles appeared. The plane flew over the spot for a long time, but no further sign of the U-boat was seen. The War Office has announced the names of nine more U-boat personnel who are now prisoners of war in Britain. SUNK BY FRENCH SUBMARINE AND TRAWLER. ACTION WITNESSED BY LINER PASSENGERS. Passengers on a French liner which reached Lisbon on Sunday, describe how a U-boat was sunk by a French destroyer, a radio message reports. • The U-boat was in touch with a German trawler which was supplying it with food and fuel. The destroyer lay in wait for the submarine and fired 10 shots. Those aboard the trawler were taken prisoner and the vessel was then sunk.
