MARTINBOROUGH EWE FAIR. ' A TOTAL CLEARANCE. The Wairarapa Live Stock Auctioneering Association report that there was a full yarding at the Martinborough Ewe Fair on Thursday. Some good lines of ewes came forward and were offered to a large attendance of local farmers. Few outside buyers were present, and while they are able to report almost a total clearance, the bidding, especially for the older ewes was restricted and slow. Some nice quality two-tooth ewes were penned, and these sold under keen competition. Messrs Burt Bros, again yard ed a quality pen ojj 2-th ewes which realised 30s 3d, and a similar line on account of the Estate A. Tocker brought 30s 3d. and a pen on accounof the same vendor of finer-woolec two-tooths made 28s 6d. Other twotooth ewes made from 22s 6d to 26s A good sound line of 4-year ewes or account of Mr S. H. Oates topped the market in this section under keen competition at 25s 3d. On account of the same vendor a line of 5-year ewes made 22s 3d. On account of Mr D A. W. McConnell, 5-year ewes realised 22s and on account the McGaft'in Estate, 20s. Brices: Acc. J. G. Gaudin. 4-year ewes. 22s 3d: a/c W. B. Martin, 5-year ewes. 21s; a/c "Stoney Creek.” 5-year ewes. 20s; a/c “Stoney Creek,” 6-year ewes. 16s 9d; a/c Est A. TOcker. 4 and 5-yr ewes. 19s; a/c W. Wagg. 4 and 5-yr ewes, 19s; a/c “Stoney Creek.” M.A. ewes, 19s 6d. Est. A. Tocker. 4 and 6-th ewes, 24s 6d: ewes down in the mouth were hard of sale and changed hands at from 10s 6d to 14s.
