PAHIATUA EWE FAIR. GOOD EWES IN DEMAND. The Associated Auctioneers report on the Pahiatua Ewe Fair held on Tuesday last, when a capacity yarding of breeding ewes was offered to a large attendance of buyers from Taranaki, Manawatu, Waikato, and as far north as Tolaga Bay. Good 4yr ewes and syr eyes, and top 2-th ewes were in keen demand. while the lower mouthed ewes, the medium conditioned syr ewes, and the medium to small 2th ewes were not greatly appreciated. An entry of 2th ewes, 500 in number, from the coast were well sold at 32s 2d. Competition was keen for this annual draft of 21hs, which are considered as great doing sheep, while a Ngaturi line of 2ths topped the market at 335. These sheep were well grown, and - in good condition, and quite a credit to the vendor, quality and breeding being also in their favour. A Kohinui line of ewes in this class also deserve mention and realised 32s 6d. A Kumeroa line of hill bred sheep, and a line of 2ths from Mangamaire were sold at satisfactory figures.
