MASTERTON SALE. PRICES IN BUYERS' FAVOUR. The Wairarapa Stock Auctioneers report a yarding of 10,000 sheep at the Masterton saleyards yesterday. The majority of the yarding consisted of breeding ewes, while some 3.000 lambs and wethers Were also yarded, and were offered to a good attendance of mostly local buyers. Generally speaking the quality and condition of the breeding ewes was not up to the usual standard, this no doubt being the result of the very severe winter conditions that existed in the Wairarapa. Prices would appear to be in buyers' favour, and while several lines were passed at auction, sales were made privately for passed in lots as the sale progressed.
