MOTOR TRAGEDY

DEATH OF MISS E. I. STUBBS INQUEST AT CARTERTON. (“Times-Age” Special.) The adjourned inquest concerning the death of Eleanor Irina Stubbs, which occurred on the Carterton Road last August, was resumed in the Carterton Courthouse this morning before the District Coroner. Mr E. G. Eton. Senior-Sergeant Doggett conducted the case on behalf of the police. Mr H. H. Daniell appeared for Mr E. C. Brenkley, Mr R. Burridge for Mr C. Bur-ling,-and Mr Webb (Wellington) for the relatives of the deceased.

Lengthy evidence was given by a number of witnesses, after which the Coroner returned a verdict that deceased met her death as a result of a collision between a motor cax- driven by Chas. Warren Burling, in which she was a passenger, and a motor lorry driven by L. Rinaldi, an employee of Mr Brenkley.
