Lord Craigavon. broadcasting on Ulster’s wartime effort, declared that Britain's difficulty was North Ireland's opportunity to place all her resources in men and material at the disposal of the United Kingdom in the hour of crisis. Ulster was planning to plough a quarter of a million additional acres in 1940 and is also handing over to Britain, as an imperial contribution, £2,000,000. Lord Craigavon concluded: "We are. the King’s men.”
