EAST COAST RIFLES
PARADE OF C SQUADRON. A parade of C Squadron. Wellington East Coast Mounted Rifles was held in the Masterton Drill Hall last night. There were 50 men on parade. Four new recruits were taken on strength to fill vacancies made by men joining up with the Expeditionary Force. The following have passed the examination for first appointment to Commissions: —L/cpls. R. Bunny and P. J. Borthwick.
Promotions within the Squadron hate been made as follow: —L/cpl. W. I. Bunny to be Sqn. Sergt. Major; Cpl. J. Duckett to be Sqn. Q.M.. Sergt; Cpls. C. O. Cardno and R. H. 11. Beetham, to be Sergeants; L/cpls. D. V. Vallance. A. C. Williams. D. K. Sutherland and A. S. Hodson, to be Corporals; Troopers R. G.Clark and V. A. Sheridan, to be Corporals. The squadron will attend a weekend bivouac in the near future at the Opakl racecourse, in conjunction with C and D Companies. Hawke's Bay Regiment.
