ANNUAL SPORTS

TINUI FORESTERS’ LODGE

RECORD ENTRIES RECEIVED.

ENJOYABLE DAY'S OUTING.

("Times-Age” Special.)

I The Tinui Foresters' Lodge Sports Club's annual gathering was held at Mr H. Bennett’s paddock on Saturday afternoon in windy but fine weather. There was a large attendance and record entries were received in all horse events, in particular the pony classes. The grounds were in splendid order and the events were expeditiously run off by an energetic committee. The judge of the hacks and hunters, Mr B. H. Pringle, and the judge of the pony classes, Mr R. Buick, had a difficult task in making their choice of the winners, competition being very keen, but their selections met with the satisfaction of all concerned. The outstanding success of the sports was due in no small measure to the splendid work of the secretary, Mr Walter P. Laing, and his assistants who worked together in perfect unison. At the conclusion of the sports the president, Mr L. D. Cameron, presented the cups and trophies, and congratulated all the competitors on their splendid horsemanship. In particular, Mr Cameron thanked Mr H. Bennett for the use of his paddock, and congratulated the marshal, Mr A. J. Speedy, for his good work in keeping the sports going with a swing.
