LEARN TO SWIM

INTER-HOUSE CARNIVAL. TO BE HELD THIS MONTH. The Wairarapa Inter-house Association has organised a swimming carnival to be held in conjunction with the Masterton Swimming Club during the “Learn to Swim Week,” which will be held in Masterton from February 12 to February 17. Competition at the carnival is open to any person employed by a business house in Masterton. The committee has decided to cater more for the swimmers that do not as a rule partake in the Masterton Swimming Club’s weekly events, and the majority of the competitions will be swum in widths not lengths. Included in the programme are the following: men’s relay teams of four, ladies’ relay teams of four, balloon race for men and ladies, neatest dive for ladies, most comic dive for men, apple bobbing for men, egg and spoon for ladies, catch the train race for ladies, candle race for men and ladies, and several 25 and 50 yard open events.

Entries for these events will close with the secretary of the Interhouse Association (Mr D. Costello) on Saturday, February 10.
