The following will represent the Memorial Lawn Tennis Club in the Wairarapa Lawn Tennis Association’s inter-club competitions on Saturday. All matches will commence at 1.30 o’clock sharp:—A team to play Masterton at Masterton;—Messrs D. E Leete, E. Phillips. J. A. Kennedy. L. Connelly, R. Boys and M. Syron. Ladies: Mrs J. M. Jones, Misses R. Percy. V. Watson, Mrs B. M. Hurley, Miss Calwell and Miss E. Madsen. In the B grade Masterton defaulter, to Memorial.
C team to play Greytown a 1 Memorial. Ladies: Mrs Schlierike. Misses Russell, Gemmell. Johnston Macdonald and' N. Richards. Men: Messrs N. Lamont, P. Ray, J. C. Wood. R. Heenan, B. Roache (captain) and R. Taylor. Emergencies: Men: Messrs Corbishley and Leadley. Ladies: Misses Baskiville.’ Patrick and Prentice. Any person not able to play is requested to communicate with Mr D. Costello. Club members are asked tc note that any first round match in the club competitions which remains unplayed by the end of next week will result in both players being scratched in the singles, and in doubles events the whole four players will be scratched. The committee point out that the events must be finished as soon as possible.
The following will represent the St Matthew’s Tennis Club in a C grade match with St Pat’s at St Matthew’s courts:—Ladies. Misses E. Stidolph, J. Riley, P. Ramsay, M. Morton, T. Jones, E. Jones. Men: Messrs A. H. Green, C. J. Carle (captain), L. Hudson, E. Sherrock, D. J. Carruthers, Ken Chapman. Play' will commence at 1.30 o'clock, and any player not available is asked to communicate with the captain as soon as possible.
WAIRARAPA COMPETITIONS. THIS SATURDAY’S GAMES. The following is the draw for the Wairarapa Lawn Tennis Association’s inter-club competitions on Saturday. (Club captains and officers responsible are requested to leave the results either with the secretary of the association, Mr H. M. Boddington, not later than Monday morning, or at the "Times-Age” as early as possible to enable publication of the results): — A grade (Gawith Shield): Masterton v Memorial at Masterton; Martinborough v Carterton at Martinborough. B grade: Mount Bruce v Park at Mount Bruce; Kuripuni v Carterton at Kuripuni; Masterton defaulted to Memorial.
C grade: Memorial v Greytown at Memorial; Carrington Park v Wairarapa College at Carrington; Park v Rangitumau at Park; St Matthew’s v St Patrick’s at St Matthew’s.
Play in all games will commence at 1.30 o’clock.
