AMATEUR CYCLING
WAIRARAPA CLUB. ANNUAL MEETING. '* The annual meeting of the Wairarapa Amateur Cycling Club was held in the Y.M.C.A. Rooms last evening. Mr E. J. Graham presided, in the absence of the president (Mr G. S. Copp), over a fair attendance. The annual report and financial statement were adopted. The financial statement showed a credit balance of £ll 10s 2d. It was decided to alter the membership fees to, seniors 7s 6d plus registration fee of 3s 6d; juniors 5s plus registration fee of 2s 6d. It was felt that the increase in subscriptions would allow the club a greater financial working margin, and would also assist in the provision of a weekly prize list. It was decided to retain the club's colours (black and green) for the coming season.
Votes of thanks were passed to Mr and Mrs S. Copp for the use of their home for meetings, to the ladies’ committee for providing afternoon tea, and to the chairman. The election of officers resulted as follows:— Patron. Mr Ben Roberts, M.P.; president, Mr S. G. Copp; vicepresidents, Messrs J. Robertson, M.P., A. Rolph, S. Sharman, G. Barr, G. Gooding, G. Udy. Geo. Vincent, E. J. Graham and L. G. Woollett; joint se-cretary-treasurers. Messrs C. A. Greenwood and K. Woollett; club captain, A. Morris; vice-captain, E. Birnie; handicapper, Io be appointed later; general committee, president, the secretaries, club captain and handicapper, ex officio, and Messrs R. Copp and L. G. Woollett.
