BOWLING
WALL CUP CONTEST. A WIN FOR MASTERTON. In a challenge match for the Wall Cup, played at the Park green on Saturday Masterton were successful in winning the trophy. The teams were:— Masterton: Hearle, Holtham, Wylie, Tamblyn (s). Park: O’Donnell, Whale. Moore. Smith (s). The game was evenly contested until near the end when Masterton, with a score of 5, were practically assured of victory. The final score was: Masterton 22, Park 15. Mr R. Wallace, president of the Park Club, in a congratulatory speech handed the cup to the winners. PARK CLUB. COMPETITION RESULTS. The following are the results of Park Club competitions:— Champion fours: Wilder, Carr, Thompson, Shearer (s) beat Roff, Braggins. Duckworth, Bell (s) 27 to 23; Smith, Burke, Brown, Simpson (s) beat MacPherson, Dagg, Reader, Stani - forth (s) 20 to 18; Roff, Braggins, Duckworth, Bell (s) beat Leigh, Jenkins Gibson, Kilgour (s) 25 to 21. Champion pairs: Wallace and Kilgour beat Wilder and Brown 19 to 16; MacPherson and Frost beat Jenkins and Leigh 23 to 17: Dixon and Staniforth beat Ferguson and Fenton 22 to 18; Buckley and Burke beat Dixon and Staniforth 27 to 19.
Champion singles: Winhall bea' Drummond 18 to 15; Drummond beat Bell 18 to 16; Winhall beat Dixon 19 to 18: Osborne beat O'Donnell 32 to 19' Wallace beat Ferguson 20 to 12; Leigh beat Reader 19 to 16.
Handicap singles: Dagg beat Ferguson, 27 to 18.
