ALLEGED ASSAULT

INCIDENT AT GREYTOWN. ACCUSED REMANDED. At a special sitting of the Masterton Magistrate’s Court this morning. Percy Thomas Gooding, aged 60, and Robert Boyce, aged 42, were charged with having assaulted Norman Gregor Gee Dong at Greytown last night. Gooding was also charged with having been intoxicated in charge of a motor vehicle in Main Street, Greytown, last night. The accused were arrested by the Grey town police. Messrs A. D. Low and J. H. Irving J.’sP. were on the Bench.

On the application of Senior-Ser-geant G. A. Doggett, the accused were remanded to appear before the Magistrate, Mr H. P. Lawry, on February 8. Bail was fixed for £25 each, a condition attached to Gooding’s bail being that he place the car in a garage and hand the ignition key into the Masterton Police Station for custody.
