ANZAC HALL APPOINTMENT OF CARETAKER. (“Times-Age” Special.) At a special meeting of the Featherston Borough Council last night, it was decided to appoint Mr George Julian, of Featherston, caretaker of the Anzac Hall. Watson is an inmate of the Masterton Hospital, where she is undergoing treatment. Mrs Frances, Masterton, who has been visiting her mother, Mrs G. M. Browne, left on Wednesday for Christchurch to visit her sister, Mrs Galbraith. Send Off to Soldiers. The Kahutara, Pahautea and Pukio settlers held a meeting on Wednesday night, when arrangements for a suitable send off for the local volunteers orj final leave were made. A Woman Pickpocket. A Featherston visitor to the Centennial Exhibition on Saturday night received a surprise when he felt the hand of a woman of about eighteen years of age in his pocket. Luckily he carried no money or valuables in the pocket. Judging by her deftness, the pickpocket was an expert.
