RIFLE SHOOTING ALFREDTON CLUB'S COMPETITION. (“Times-Age” Special.) At the Alfredton Rifle Club’s weekly competition a light fishtail wind was tricky enough to prevent high scoring, the best being C. Morrison’s 92 off the rifle. The day's trophy went to Mrs Leach. Scores:—
Personals Items. Mr A. Frederickson entered the- Pahiatua Public Hospital yesterday to undergo' treatment. Mr and Mrs B. Tucker and family have left on a visit to Paekakariki. Mrs B. A number of complaints have been made of late in connection with the actions of a gang of irresponsible youths who appear to derive pleasure in roaming the streets of the town very late at night disturbing the peace. They have visited the children’s playground and used the units there creating a disturbance which has caused annoyance to neighbours, one of whom stated that quite recently she was awakened at 2 a.m. by unseemly noises issuing from the playground. Another senseless prank indulged in is the throwing of beer bottles into the swimming baths, the breaking of the bottles being a danger to bathers.. Action is to be taken to deal with these ‘ffiight disturbers.” Theft of Tent. The theft of a tent erected on the front lawn of a Parkville residence was the work of some impudent person or persons. The work of taking down the tent failed to arouse the occupants of a room, the window of which was open, about a yard away. The police are investigating the matter.
