GERMAN SEAMEN TAKEN FROM LINER DEMAND BY JAPANESE MINISTER. DEMONSTRATION IN TOKIO. By Telegraph—Press Association—Copyright. TOKIO, January 23. The Japanese Foreign Minister (Mr Arita), with the support of Cabinet, announces his intention “to insist on the Germans taken from the Asama Maru being returned to Japan.” The police blocked an attempt of 300 Tokio pro-Fascist Party members to demonstrate against the British Embassy demanding an apology for the alleged insult. A small delegation was permitted to present a resolution to the Embassy attache charging that “the incident pollutes the soul of the Japanese people.” INJURED PRIDE VIEWS OF SEAMEN’S ASSOCIATION (Received This Day, 11.5 a.m.) KOBE, January 23. The Seamen’s Association denounces as cowardly the Asama Maru mastci s surrender of the Germans and declares that he has injured the pride of Japanese seamanship and contributed to the loss of the Empire's pride.
