The most brilliant batting seen this season marked the completion of the ton Cricket Association’s senior compesixth series of matches in the Wellingttiion on Saturday afternoon. Midland beat Institute by 171 runs on the first innings, piling up the tall score of 403 for four wickets in response to Institute’s total of 232. Wellington College Old Boys piled up the solid score of 427 for seven wickets against University. Old Boys won by 195 runs on the first innings. Hutt, with six wickets down for 69. made a valiant effort to overhaul the Kilbirnie total of 223 on the Kilbirnie ground, and failed to do so only by 12 runs. Wellington passed Karori’s modest total of 199 with only four wickets down, and thus won. SHEFFIELD SHIELD. BRADMAN REACHES 1000 RUNS. By Telegraph—Press Association—Copyright SYDNEY, January 13.

In a Sheffield Shield cricket match against South Australia, New South Wales made 270 in their first innings (M. Cohen 74 .McCabe 59). South Australia lost two wickets for 54 runs (Bradman 24 not out). Bradman has now reached 1000 runs in this season’s Sheffield Shield matches.
