CROQUET MATCH MASTERTON PLAYERS BEATEN. (“Times-Age" Special.) In a match for the A Buttons Mesdames Finlayson and Polson (Masterton) were defeated by Mrs Saunders and Miss Lyford (Featherston) by 26 to 20.

BIDWILL AND WILLIAMS CUPS. The ollowing were the scores in the competition held by the Featherston Rifle Club on Saturday for the Bidwill and Williams Cups:— Yards
Personal. Miss Shirley Caseley, Martinborough, who has been rhe guest of Miss Janet Lawson, left today for Wellington. Mr Don McWilliams, of the Bank of New Zealand, left Featherston today for Wellington, where he has been transferred. Mr McWilliams will go into camp shortly. Welcome Rain. Two inches of rain fell between 6 p.m. Saturday and 6 a.m. Sunday. The rain will oe invaluable to the district as the hot north-westerly winds of the past few days had had a detrimental effect on crops and pastures.
