FEATHERSTON
FIRE BRIGADE BUSINESS AT MONTHLY MEETING. (“Times-Age” Special.) The monthly meeting of the Featherston Volunteer Fire Brigade was held on Monday evening, Foreman P. Habib presiding. A hearty vote of thanks was accorded to the Featherston Borough Council for its annual grant, and to Mrs C. Elgar and Messrs S. Reid-and W. Charles for donations. Fireman R. O'Keefe was appointed custodian to the fire station. It was decided to hold the competition for the C. R. Skipage Cup before the end of March, the event to be tnc one-man Gilbert memorial event with the exception of the dressing; the U.F.B.A. rules to apply. Arrangements and date for the annual picnic are to be considered at the next monthly meeting. It was decided to send a delegate to the U.F.B.A. Conference to be held ar Petone commencing on March 3. The delegate will be selected later. Personal. Mr and Mrs A. S. Kilsby are spending a holiday at Paraparaumu Beach. Miss Faith Durrad. Khandallah, is the guest of Miss Suzanne Sharp. Miss Clapshaw, of the nursing staff of the Dannevirke Hospital, arrived in Featherston yesterday and is spending her holidays with her parents, Mr and Mrs A. Clapshaw, Ludlum Street. Birthday Party. A birthday party was held in the Kahutara Hall last night for Miss Lena Matenga. A pleasant time was spent in games and dancing. The beautiful iced birthday cake was given by Mrs Stewart Reid.
