MINIATURE BOATS
IN STUDIO POOL. If you saw "Submarine Patrol" you saw an excellent example of Badolas’s work at Hollywood. In all scenes showing the patrols at sea a back-drop sky was used. The boats were miniatures made to scale and drawn across the studio pool, with a huge skyline backdrop in the background of the pool. If you remember, these scenes were particularly effective, and looked the real thing.
