PERSONAL ITEMS. (“Times-Age” Special.) The Pirinoa Hall was crowded recently, the occasion being the wedding of Tangi, youngest daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs W. Piripi, Kohunui, to Andrew, eldest son of Mr. J. Simeon, and of the late Mrs. Simeon. Feilding. Elder Waaka Enoka officiated at the ceremony. A reception was afterwards held in the dining room of the hall. Mr and Mrs. Simeon were the recipients of many beautiful presents. They will reside in Feilding. Miss Jensen, Carterton, was the guest of Mr. and Mrs S. Mclntosh for the wek-end. The health of Mrs. Guy Gillies, who has been ill, is showing an improvement. Mr Vic Sullivan left yesterday for Trentham Camp as a member of the second echelon. Mr. Wilson has returned to Wellington after having spent the holidays with Mr and Mrs. T. Hume. Miss Queenie Te Maari, who has been spending the holidays with her mother, has returned to Waipukurau. Mr. Frank Busch was admitted to hospital on Sunday, where he will undergo an operation. Mrs. and Miss K. Riwai have left for a visit to the South Island. Mr. J. Jones, who was the guest of Mr. and Mrs. Bragg over the holidays, has returned to Wellington. Mr. and Mrs. D. S. Warren and family have returned from Palliser Bay, where they spent the New Year holidays. Mr. W. Didsbury, Wellington, was the guest of his aunt, Miss McDougall, for a few days. Mr Russell Hall, who has been staying with his parents over the holidays, has returned to Taupo. Mr and Mrs A. White, of Wanganui, have been spending the holidays at Palliser Bay. Mr. and Mrs. Burling are staying with them son, Mr. T. Burling. Mr and Mrs Gordon Sutherland have returned from Hastings, where they spent the holidays. Mr and Mrs J. Simeon, Te Awamutu. who were here for the Piripi-Simeon wedding have returned home. Mr and Mrs Sutherland, Wellington, were the guests of Mr and Mrs Gillies for the holidays. Mrs A. Te Maari has returned to Wanganui. Mr Pansy, who was here for a few days, has also returned to Wanganui. Mr T. Tomoana, who spent the holidays here, has returned to Hastings. Mrs. Packnitz and Miss Russell. Petone, were the guests of Mr. and Mrs R. Piripi over tb n holidays. Mr and Mrs. R. i-eare<_ spent the Christmas holidays at Wairoa. Miss Murray, who .was present at the Piripi-Simeon wedding, has returned to her home at Te Awamutu. Mr. Gregory, of Foxton, has returned home after having spent the holidays with friends here. Mrs Rosnell and her son have returned to Nelson. White Butterflies. White butterflies are not so numerous in this district as in previous years. Last year a local resident disposed of some five thousand, and this year he states that he has not yet reached the five hundred mark. Shearing in Full Swing. Shearing operations are sun nt full swing in this district. Given fine weather this work should be finished by the end of the month. . Lambs and fat sheep are still leaving the district for the various works. Maori Housing Scheme. A start has been made with the erection of houses under the Maori housing scheme in this district. Two houses are to be erected immediately, and it is expected that others will be built as soon as the materials are on the spot. Mr. Johnston is in charge of the building operations and is being assisted by six Maori employees. It is expected that the first building will be completed within six weeks.
