The death occurred at Kaitawa on Monday of Mr Andrew Knox, at the age of 81 years. Messrs B. Hollier (blastings), H. Carey, T. U. Ross. R. Bolt (Wellington) are among guests at the Hotel Midland, Masterton. Mr T. McCormack has returned to Masterton from a trip to Otago where he had been attending a reunion, of the Hampden Rifle Club. Recent Empire Hotel (Masterton) guests were Messrs R. Moore (Gisborne), Shotbott (New Plymouth), L. Edmonds (Nelson), H. P. Lawry, S.M.. L. Campbell. P. Dudley, E. Roberts (Palmerston North), Garvie, Kennedy (Wellington). A prominent figure in the printing trade in Auckland for more than 59 years, Mr. Dennett Jaques Wright, died at his residence, 10 Koraha Street, Remuera, on Monday, aged 90. He was the founder of the old-established printing firm of Wright and Jaques, Limited.

Major H. J. Parkinson and Mrs Parkinson, of the Salvation Army, Invercargill, have received advice of their transfer to the Christchurch City Corps, and will leave Invercargill on January 16. Major Parkinson has been in charge of the Salvation Army work in Invercargill for the last two and a half years. He has served on committees for the control of patriotic funds and has assisted in the work of social welfare. Mrs Parkinson has acted as the women’s probation officer for the district.
