DEFENSIVE ALLIANCE SUPPORT FOR HUNGARY. ITALY’S REPORTED ASSURANCE. (Received This Day, 9.55 a.m) LONDON, January 8. The Associated Press of America Budapest correspondent says it is learned on the highest authority that Count Csaky and Count Ciano have concluded a defensive military alliance, designed to assure Hungary of Italy’s support against aggression from either Russia or Germany. x lt is understood that Yugoslavia is not willing to join an outright alliance, but will enter a triple friendship pact,' under which it is presumed that Italy will be permitted to move troops across her territory. Count Csaky is expected at Budapest tomorrow in order to submit the text of the Alliance to the Crown Council, after which he will go to Rome to sign the pact. It is understood that Count Ciano urged Hungary to seek at least a temporary agreement with Rumania in connection with Transylvanian minorities. It is reported from Bucharest that M. Gafencu is now planning to visit Count Ciano to discuss Italy’s efforts to reconcile Hungarian and Rumanian differences.
