WEDDING
ANDERSON—OPENSH AW; A wedding uniting two well-known Rangitikei and Wairarapa families took place recently in the Anglican Church, Marton, when Victor Archibald, only son of Mr and Mrs A. Anderson. Horokiwi, Carterton, was married* to Jocelyn only daughter of Mr and Mrs E. Openshaw, Redvales, Marton. The wedding was attended only by relations, as the bridegroom, on leave from military camp, will leave with the first echelon for overseas. The bride, who was escorted by her father, wore a magnolia satin frock made in simple empire style with a long train, the only ornament being a diamond crescent worn at the low neckline. A beautiful old family veil made of heavy parchment lace was mounted on a circlet of orange blossom, and she carried a sheaf bouquet of deep cream water-lilies and roses. The bridesmaid, Miss Tui Anderson, wore an eggshell blue crepe frock, made with elbow puff sleeves and draped neckline. She wore a band of natural pink and blue flowers in her hair and carried a sheaf bouquet of matching delphiniums and water-lilies. The best man was Mr John Openshaw, and the ushers at the church were Messrs Tony Fullerton-Smith and Villars Smith. An informal reception was held in the grounds and drawing-room of the beautiful old home of the bride’s grandmother, Mrs Smith. The bride travelled in a floral frock in fuchsia tonings, navy coat and navy veiled hat.
