CARTERTON SALE. FAT SHEEP BRING LATE RATES. Messrs Wright Stephenson and Co., Ltd., report as follows: —At the Carterton sale yesterday we offered an average yarding of all classes of stock, porkers and baconers showed a decline of about 10s a head on our last sale while, slips and weaners which were in short supply sold readily. Cattle and fat sheep sold well up to late rates but lambs met a dragging sale. Realisations are as follows: — Cattle: Fat cows, £7 10s, £7. £6 2s 6d to £4; store cows, £3 7s 6d, £2 ss. £2 to 295; yearling heifers, 32s 6d. 33s to £2 12s; empty heifers, £2 10s; bulls. £8 6s. £5 10s, £5 ss, £4 5s to '£4; yearling steers. £2 18s to £2 7s 6d. Pigs: Baconers, £3 14s. £3 6s to £2 10s; porkers, 40s, 375. 365, 33s 6d, 30s. 265, 255; empty sows, £2 11s; sow and litter, £4 10s; pedigree Tamworth boar, 3?gns.; weaners, 20s to 225; slips. 23s 6d, 21s 6d. 20s 6d to 20s; store pigs. 25s 6d. Sheep: Fat wethers, 22s 3d. 20s sd, 19s Id; fat ewes. 16s 2d: fat b.f. wethers. 17s Id; wethers. 9s; wethers, small. 6s: ewes, small, 10s; 2-th ewes. 17s 6d; store wethers, 16s 3d; b.f. lambs, 13s lOd: b.f. lambs, small. 7s 9d.
