CARTERTON
BOWLING TOURNEY CARTERTON REPRESENTATIVES. (“Times-Age” Special.) The New Zealand Centennial bowling tournament will start in Wellington on Monday next. Carterton representatives will be W. C. M. Sorensen (who will contest the singles) and Sorensen and G. W. Hart (who will compete in the pairs). The club will be represented in the'rinks by Harris. Underhill. Tucker and G. Hart. The singles will commence on Monday and if W. Sorensen plays anything like he did in the last New Zealand tournament at Auckland he will do credit to his club. Personal Items. Mr and Mrs W. Martin and family, of Rexwood Street, left yesterday for Hawera, where they will be present at the marriage of a relative. Mr A. R. Steffert, of Whakatane. son of Mr Geo. Steffert, Snr., who is spending a holiday in Carterton, has enlisted for active service and will go into camp with the next contingent. Miss Nora Lorenzen, daughter of Mrs C. Lorenzen, Seddon Street, is on a visit to Carterton. Later she will return to Nelson. Mr and Mrs J. Lane, of Palmerston North, who have been staying with their niece, Mrs L. A. De'Lacey, over the holidays, returned to Palmerston North today.
