"The Times" Rome correspondent says diplomatic circles attach the utmost importance to the meeting between Count Ciano and M Csaky on January 6. It is claimed that the conversations will have a fundamental influence on the whole of Europe hitherto untouched by war. at least to improve and stabilise the Balkans' relations.

The “Daily Telegraph’s” Rome correspondent says the main subjects being discussed are firstly, the question of common Hungaro-Russian frontiers and the possibility of the Carpathians forming a barrier to a Russian advance on the Balkans; secondly, HungaroRumanian relations and the prospect of amicably settling the Transylvanian dispute; thirdly, Hungaro-.lugoslavian cc-operation and lastly, questions arising out of the war and Italian-Hunga-rian co-operation as a solution thereof. It is reported that Marshal Goering may visit Rome after the discussions. It is understood that he has expressed a wish‘to exchange views on-the general situation.
