9 DRUIDS’ LODGE MEETING OF MEMBERS. ("Times-Age" Special.) • Owing to the fortnightly meeting night of the Totara Lodge Druids falling on New Year’s night trie meeting s was adjourned and was held last evening, when there was a good attendance of members. P.D.P. Bro. H. Bassett presided in the absence of the A.D. Ero. li. Murrell. Advice was received that Bro. W. C. Dorset, resident of Manakau, had entered the hospital at Palmerston North and had undergone an operation. It was reported that Bro. E. Martin was in hospital at Tauranga with a broken leg. Votes of sympathy are to be conveyed to both members. Sick pay amounting to £l6 17s 4d, and lodge surgeons’ accounts amounting to £75 10s, were passed for payment. • Centennial Exhibition. During the past week or 'so many Carterton residents have journeyed to Wellington to see the Exhibition. All are loud in their praise of the building and its appointments. Small Fruit. Fairly large consignments of raspberries and currants are being railed from Greytown and Carterton orchards to Auckland and Wellington. Swimming Baths. Yesterday’s warm weather resulted in the Carterton swimming baths being well, patronised. During the afternoon there was a large attendance of children. vzho revelled in the water made warm by the strong rays of the sun. Sheep for Freezing Works. Large consignments of sheep and lambs continue to be railed from the local railway station, and yesterday some sixteen waggons were forwarded to Ngahauranga. Personal. Mrs F. Roydhouse, of Wanganui, arrived in Carterton yesterday on a visit to her mother. Court Returns. The following are the returns in connection with the Carterton S.M. Court for the 12 months ended December 31: Number of civil plaints issued for the year 148, judgment summonses 67. • criminal cases 166,1 children’s court 9, warrants of distress and committal 9, ' summonses served by Bailiff 160.
