HELP FOR TURKEY
BRITAIN OFFERS HOSPITAL SHIP IN ADDITION TO MONEY CONTRIBUTION. RED CROSS AND OTHER OFFERS. (British Official Wireless.) (Received This Day, 9.43 a.m.) RUGBY, January 4. His Majesty’s Government has offered to put a hospital ship at the disposal of the Turkish Government which expressed gratitude for the offer, of which they will avail themselves should the need . arise. ■ The British Red Cross Society has offered £lOOO to the Turkish Red Crescent organisation, in cash or medical supplies, for the relief of distress caused by the floods and the earthquake. The “Save ’the Children” Fund has appealed for funds to afford relief to the children victims of the Anatolian earthquake and floods. The appeal follows several other manifestations of deep sympathy which the reports of distress have aroused here, including a contribution of £25,000 from the British Government, and the offer of the services of a hospital ship.
