PRINCIPAL EVENT WON BY PURINA

At the opening day of the Greymouth Trotting Club's meeting yesterday the Dominion Handicap was comfortably won by Purina, while George Arliss had an easy win in the Summer Handicap. A sensational smash in the Intermediate Handicap saw five horses fall and isix others were consequently excluded from the race. Of 15 starters only five finished. One driver was sent to hospital to have his injuries treated.
