TO KEEP VEGETABLES
A USEFUL HINT. Potatoes should be spread out on a cool, dry floor. Carrots, parsnips and beetroot keep well if dried in the air and then packed in a box of soil. Onions or shallots should be tied in small bunches or placed in string bags and hung in a dry, airy room.
