SOME OF ITS USES. Most of us know the value of a lemon drink to ward off 'flu or colds, but the versatile lemon has many other uses. Here are a few: — A squeeze of lemon juice in A glass of water is an excellent dentifrice and mouth-wash, removing tartar and sweetening the breath. Lemon juice will cure insect bites, remove stains from fingers and loosen the cuticle far better than any instrument. Try a teaspoonful of it in a small cup of black coffee for that bilious headache, or take the juice of one in the morning and keep the liver in good order. It also cures obesity if taken regularly. Equal parts of it and glycerine are splendid for loss of voice, or to moisten fevered lips and tongue. While lemon juice and salt rubbed on linen removes rust slains.'Pour boiling water through after use. Don’t waste the peels. Dry them and use to kindle the fire.
