“OUR BLACK CAT” ART UNION DID NOT AT FIRST REALISE SHE HAD WON. By Telegraph—Press Association—Copyright. DANNEVIRKE, This Day. “Mickey,’ the winner of the second prize in “Our Black Cat” art union proved to be a woman, the wife of a well-known Mangahei farmer W. C. Kilford. She did not know of hetgood luck until this morning when a neighbour in the course of conversation expressed wonder as to who ‘Mickey” was. Mrs Kilford at that stage did not know, but remembering she had bought a ticket at the Exhibition in November, got it and compared it with the number announced in the Press, and then realised her good fortune. FIRST PRIZE WINNER. DUNEDIN, This Day. The first prize winner in the “Black Cart' Art Union is Mrs George Moddy. wife of a well-known tobacconist sportsman. She said it was the first ticket she had bought solely for herself. When things were more safe, she and her husband would take a long trip. The fifth prize of £3OO goes to Jack Everest, sterotyper. "Evening Star.”
