When German aeroplanes appeared over the Firth of Forth fighter planes made contact with one Heinkel machine at a considerable height. After twice engaging the enemy the Heinkel dived into the clouds and disappeared. Two others flew along the east coast. One circled over one town. Machine gun fire was heard, and the machine flew out to sea, leaving a trail of white smoke.
