WOMEN’S DIVISION
MEETING AT RANGITUMAU. WINNERS OF COMPETITIONS. (“Times-Age” Special.)
At the December meeting of the Rangitumau branch of the Domen’s Division of the Farmers’ Union there was a fair attendance of members. In the unavoidable absence, through illness, of Mrs James, the chair was occupied by Mrs E. Wilton. It was decided to hold the proposed flower show about March 8. , The monthly competitions resulted as follows:—One bloom: Mrs Duckett, 1; Miss I. Harvey. 2. Three blooms: Miss I Harvey. 1; Mrs Duckett. 2. Vegetable salad: Mrs Macdonald, 1; Miss A. Harvey, 2. Christmas cake: Mrs T. McLachlan, 1; Mrs Macdonald, 2. Christmas novelty: Mrs Duckett, 1; Mrs Macdonald and Mrs Wrigley (equal), 2. Shoulder spray: Mrs Wrigley, 1; Miss J. McLachlan, 2. Mrs Tankersley, Masterton, acted as judge and was accorded a vote of thanks and presented with a shoulder spray. Members expressed regret at the indisposition of Mrs James, their esteemed president, and forwarded to her a dainty posy and small Christmas gift. The programme for the February meeting will be: —-The usual blooms, I surprise packets, plain gems, travel ' talk.
