ST. CUTHBERT’S CHURCH SUNDAY SCHOOL BREAK-UP PARTY. (“Times-Age” Special.) The annual break-up party in connection with St Cuthbert's Sunday School was held yesterday afternoon The party was preceded by a service in the church, at which the Rev L. Ives officiated. Several carols were nicely rendered by the Children's Sunday School Choir. John Dawson sang a solo, and a duet was rendered by Sybil Walton and Muriel Gray. After the service an adjournment was made to the Sunday School Room, when the parents and pupils were entertained at afternoon tea. Several games were played by the children, at the conclusion of which a gift to each pupil was made, being kindly donated by Miss Edwards, who journeyed from Carterton tc be present at the happy gathering. Mr Ives thanked Miss Edwards on behalf of the pupils.
A Festive Appearance. The town has taken on a very festive appearance during the last few days. Strings of coloured lights have been attached on almost all the business premises, and shops appear to be well stocked with those things which are usually in demand at this time of the yea)-. Baths Well Patronised. The recent spell of fine weather has attracted quite a lot of swimmers to the baths, which are being well patronised. Personal Items. Mr W. Pearson, of the County staff, left today to spend the Christmas vacation with his parents in Hastings. Mr A. L. Wilson, headmaster of the Eketahuna District High School, and family will leave on Saturday to spend the holidays in Taihape. Mr F. West, of the W.F.C.A. staff, intends. with Mrs West, to make an extended tour of the North Island, going as far as the Ninety Mile Beach. Miss Rosone Price has left with her grandmother, Mrs Woods, to visit relations in Waipawa. Mr and Mrs H. Price will leave on Saturday to visit relatives in Waipawa for Christmas, after which they intend going to Wellington for the Exhibition: Mr and Mrs P. Jensen Senr, and their sons Norman and Walter, will leave on Tuesday on a motor tour of the North Island. Miss J. Hardingham. of Sumner, has arrived home for the school holidays.
