Heroic, one of the greatest racehorses ever foaled in Australasia and the most successful Australian-bred stallion ever known, broke a leg at the Growce Stud and was destroyed. Heroic had headed the list of winning sires for Australasia for the last seven years. His progeny thus far have won 853 races, worth £262,186.
