ITALIAN DEMANDS
ACCORDING TO GAYDA. FREE OUTLET WANTED FROM MEDITERRANEAN.' (Received This Day, 11.35 a.m.) ROME, December 21. Signor Gayda says Italy demands a free outlet from the Mediterranean. She recognises British rights, but Italy’s vital interests must be respected. She is at present made a prisoner in the Mediterranean in armed hands. Britain holds all the gateways—Gibraltar, Suez and the Dardanelles.
